The Brunei Gallery at SOAS is hosting an exhibition of the research findings of the five-year ERC-funded Haṭha Yoga Project (http://hyp.soas.ac.uk/). Curated by Jacqueline Hargreaves and Daniela Bevilacqua, the exhibition includes footage which recreates āsana-s from the 18th-century text the Haṭhābhyāsapaddhati. Alongside practitioners from the UK and India I was honoured to collaborate on this project. Jason Birch and Mark Singleton have recently published an extensive article on the text which was likely drawn upon by Krishnamacarya in Mysore in the 1930s, inspiring in turn many forms of modern yoga including Ashtanga and Iyengar.
